On Tuesday, the Baltic nation’s parliament passed a resolution urging EU states and United Nations members to “take immediate steps to establish a no-fly zone in order to prevent massive civilian casualties in Ukraine.” President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has repeatedly asked for a no-fly zone, but his request has been rejected by governments concerned about escalating the conflict with Russia. A no-fly zone would lead to jets from NATO member states patrolling the skies above Ukraine and potentially shooting down any Russian plane that flouts the ban—which could trigger a direct confrontation between nuclear powers and perhaps even spark a world war....
The Crumberly’s have been in jail since December 4 after being unable to post their bond. They had a hearing on Friday to try and lower their bond to $100,000 and be able to leave prison, but the judge denied their request. Judge Julie Nicholson said she denied lowering the bond because the pair have ties in the area and failed to turn themselves in on December 3 after they were charged in connection with their son Ethan Crumberly for the fatal shootings at Oxford High School on November 30....
Speaking before a European Parliament committee, EU Economy Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said that when all efforts are counted together, the EU’s COVID response stacks up to the $1.9 trillion relief package passed under President Joe Biden. “Measures taken until now from member states and the EU reach so far 4.8 trillion” euros, the Italian commissioner told legislators. Dr. Hans Kluge told reporters from the WHO Europe headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, that the number of cases in the region is nearing record levels. The pace at which COVID-19 is being transmitted is of “grave concern” to the organization. “We are at another critical point of pandemic resurgence,” Kluge said. “Europe is back at the epicenter of the pandemic, where we were one year ago.” He attributes loose prevention measures and low vaccination rates as the primary reasons for increasing infection rates....
Ryanair is launching a legal challenge against the U.K. over its “traffic light” system for international travel in hopes of forcing the government to roll back strict rules for the summer travel season. “We call on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to explain the scientific basis behind this system that the Government seems to make up as they go along and to establish a data-driven transparent model that could restore confidence in air travel ahead of the very crucial peak summer months,” Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said....

In the 25 years after Sex and the City first aired, many criticisms about the show have been widely shared. The show starts great and gets very bad by the end. Carrie is the absolute worst. The show has big problems with race and/or any forms of sexuality that are not heterosexual and vanilla. All of these criticisms are true some of the show, but there is also plenty to like across all six seasons....
