According to Sports Illustrated, the deal will average $9.5 million per year, which is $500,000 less per year than Mack could have averaged with the Browns.

Mack had tried to leave Cleveland two years ago when he signed a five-year, $42 million deal with the Jaguars, but the Browns had placed the transition tag on Mack, allowing them the opportunity to match Jacksonville’s offer and make him the highest-paid center in the league. The opt-out clause was added by the Browns.
