The Claim
The Daily Mail recently reported that the 30-year-old actress is stepping back from acting to spend time with her partner, Leo Robinton.
Watson was soon trending on Twitter, as fans claimed she was retiring from acting.
The Facts
There was an outpouring of support for Watson over social media as fans remembered some of Watson’s most beloved roles.
Watson last posted on Twitter in August 2020 and on Instagram in June 2020. Her Instagram bio reads: “Emma’s official Instagram page is currently dormant and is not being updated.”
Jason Weinberg, Watson’s manager at United Entertainment, debunked the rumor.
“Emma’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t,” Weinberg told Entertainment Weekly. He then told Newsweek that the quote is accurate but had nothing to add.
The Ruling
False.
According to Watson’s manager, she is not retiring from acting at this time.
