Mercedes has failed to win the last two Monaco Grand Prix races, the team’s worst current winless run in a single Grand Prix. If Mercedes does record a one-two finish in Monaco, though — and the team is certainly set up for it given the qualifying results — it would be six such finishes in a row and the best streak in F1 history. Hamilton is searching for his fourth win of the season, and Bottas is looking for his third.
A starting position of third for Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is a welcome result for a team entering the Monaco Grand Prix with confidence. Red Bull has collected 272 points at Monte Carlo, the team’s most at a single F1 circuit.
