Marathon Tours (marathon tour.com) is currently booking for next year’s races, like a $2,220 deal to Kenya for the Safaricom Marathon (June 28, 2003) or the Antarctica Marathon package ($4,499 to $5,699, March 3, 2003). Both include air fare, accommodations–six nights in Kenya or 12 nights in Antarctica–and, of course, race registration. Not quite up for a marathon? There’s still Andes Adventures (andesadventures.com). For $2,595 you spend nine days in July running along the Inca Trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu. Or Passport to Adventure’s seven-night “running cruise” through the western Caribbean, including lectures on injury prevention and training strategies ($849 to $1,149 from (passporttoadventure.net). It also offers the usual onboard entertainment and all-you-can-eat buffets, so you could even get nonrunning family members to tag along.
