Keshi played for the Super Eagles from 1981 to 1995 and won the African Cup of Nations in 1994. The defender scored nine goals in 64 appearances for the national team.

As a coach, the former Anderlecht and Strasbourg man led the country to a third Afcon triumph in 2013 but died of cardiac arrest three years later, at the age of 54.

And his former colleagues and players have taken to the social media to remember his legacy.
