MORE: UCF kicker Donald De La Haye gives up football for YouTube stardom
His video Tuesday wasn’t like his typical content as he chose to make a diss track.
He chose to rap over XXXTentacion’s “Look At Me” beat and had some strong messages for the NCAA. For starters, he began the song by saying, “Screw the NCAA.” You can listen to the full track below, but a fair warning: there is explicit language in the video.
Haye was clearly proud of his work.
As for his football career, it appears he’s fully committed to making videos now. At the end of the diss track video he tosses his cleats on to a power line and waves goodbye.
In a video released Monday, Haye discussed at length how everything went down between him, UCF and the NCAA. At one point he discussed a meeting with his coach, Scott Frost, and how he felt he didn’t get much backing from him or the team.
Frost, via the Orlando Sentinel, responded to that claim by saying, “It bothers me a little, but I’ve only heard second hand what he’s said. I care about every one of our football players. … Donald made a choice not to be a part of that. I respect his decision and wish him the best, but any comment I make isn’t going to help the situation.”
Haye has gained popularity ever since his case hit the national media, and he’s now up to over 160,000 subscribers on YouTube.
