Parscale’s wife, Candice Parscale, called the department claiming that he was in the house with multiple handguns and was threatening to hurt himself according to Sun-Sentinel, who were first to report the story. Candice Parscale claimed Brad Parscale loaded a handgun after the pair engaged in a heated argument. When police arrived, she showed officers cuts and bruises on her arms and face that she alleged were caused by Parscale.

After several minutes of talking with Candice Parscale, bodycam footage showed Parscale exiting his home shirtless and unarmed to speak with officers. He was immediately tackled by one officer. Two others restrained him while he was placed in handcuffs. “I didn’t do anything,” Parscale said repeatedly.

“I don’t have any weapons. I didn’t do anything,” he continued.

According to a police report, Candice Parscale, her husband—who suffers from PTSD—was under the influence of alcohol. She claimed Brad Parscale had been significantly stressed over the last two weeks and made statements about wanting to commit suicide.

Parscale was detained and taken to a medical facility for psychiatric evaluation. Meanwhile, authorities removed 10 firearms from his home including one shotgun, one rifle and multiple pistols.

Sergeant DeAnna Greenlaw of Fort Lauderdale Police Department confirmed to CNN that officers responded to a call at Brad Pascale’s home “in reference to an armed male attempting suicide.”

“When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with the armed subject’s wife, who advised her husband was armed and had access to multiple firearms inside the residence and was threatening to harm himself,” Greenlaw said, adding that the police “developed a rapport, and safely negotiated for him to exit the home. The male was detained without injury and transported to Broward Health Medical Center for a Baker Act.”

Newsweek has reached out to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department for further comment.

Brad Parscale was initially named Trump’s 2020 campaign manager in February 2018. However, he was demoted from his post in July. The president announced Brad Parscale would go on to serve as senior adviser for the campaign focusing specifically on data and digital strategy. Bill Stepien was named the replacement.
