Gay went to Louisville, the Wildcats’ rival, and had a piece of paper with “Louisville Rules” written on it taped to his back during warmups on Sunday. He made sure Calipari saw it.

“I never lost to Kentucky,” said Gay. “I play football.”

Calipari retorted that perhaps Gay’s Cardinals lost to Memphis, where Calipari coached from 2000-09 (they did, in Gay’s freshman season of 2003, by a 37-7 count).
Calipari grew up in Moon Township, Pa. In this year’s trip to training camp, according to ESPN, he brought along two former Wildcats player with him — Suns guard Devin Booker and undrafted center Alex Poythress.
