Former Knicks coach Larry Brown thinks so.
More NBA draft: Calipari: Karl Anthony-Towns wanted to play shooting guard | Prospect Cameron Payne breaks finger
Brown, who New York fired after just one season in 2006, told Sport’s Illustrated’s Chris Mannix that the Knicks asked for his opinion on 2015 NBA Draft prospect Emmanuel Mudiay. Brown, now coaching at Southern Methodist University, recruited Mudiay to play in 2014.
Mudiay forewent the scholarship to play for Brown, choosing to play overseas instead. He’s now back in the U.S. for the draft.
Brown is very open about his feelings on his former recruit, telling SNY.tv’s Adam Zagoria that he is “a pure point guard” and “will make everyone on his team better.”
Perhaps that’s why his ex-employers felt comfortable enough to ask.
