According to the warrant, Boyd — who starred at Clemson from 2011-13 — was involved in a verbal altercation at a nightclub in July and pushed a person, causing the alleged victim to fall into another individual and then to the ground. The incident happened at On the Roxx in Greenville, S.C., and involved a doorman at the nightclub, according to the police report.
Boyd turned himself in Monday morning after the warrant was issued Friday, Greenville Police officer Gilberto Franco told the News. He was released on a $1,087 personal recognizance bond, WYFF reported.

According to the police report, the victim delayed reporting the incident in order to consult with an attorney.

Boyd passed for 11,904 yards and 107 touchdowns with 39 interceptions during his career at Clemson. He also rushed for 1,100 yards and another 26 scores. He was the ACC Player of the year in 2012 but never stuck long-term with a professional team, in the NFL or CFL.
