“I have to admit the taunting at the end of the game was immature on my part and in poor taste,” said Kreifels, whose account is private. “However, I must say that it is never my intention to take a cheap shot, but to always try my best while going 100% for my team. By the time he was sliding, I had already begun to dive. My goal was never to harm anyone but to go for the ball. Football is my life and I always give it everything I have.”

Kreifels hit Adams during Saturday’s game and was flagged for targeting. He was ejected from the ballgame and on his way out he taunted the crowd, setting off coach Beau Baldwin.
Adams later returned to the sideline and said he was okay. Oregon coach Mark Helfrich implied Adams didn’t suffer a concussion on the play, even though the quarterback was wobbly after the hit. Adams says he’s going to be on the field next week against Michigan State.
