Yesterday, the Evil Dead filmmaker announced that he will be returning to the comic book world. With Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role, Raimi will be taking over the reins left from Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, according to Collider. Raimi previously directed the original Spider-Man trilogy, which featured Tobey Maguire in the lead role.
In reaction to the news, Twitter users started ranking the Spider-Man movies. Interestingly, a majority of Spidey fans picked the 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as their favorite. Sadly, The Amazing Spider-Man movies, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, didn’t get a lot of love.
