All of which is about as unusual as the sun coming up in the East and setting in the West. As in Sprint Cup racing, Gibbs drivers are the scourge of Xfinity competition.

Jones and Daniel Suarez are form the front row for Saturday’s Hisense 4K TV 300, which begins about 2:30 p.m. ET at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Jones is on the pole for the fourth time this season. He won two weeks ago at Dover, and also won at Bristol. Gibbs teammate Kyle Busch has four Xfinity Series wins.

And with Denny Hamlin starting third, Gibbs cars are the ones to beat at Charlotte.
