Johnson was immediately taken to the locker room to get stitched up with the Avalanche leading 2-0 in the second period. He logged 14:02 of ice time before suffering the cut.

But because Johnson is a hockey player, he was back on the ice in a matter of minutes.

Just last year, Detroit’s Drew Miller took a blade to the face that narrowly avoided slicing his eyeball in half. He asked to play the very next day.
