Dennis Michiel McDaniel, 31, was arrested on Tuesday, December 20, on suspicion of indecency with a child, a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) spokesperson said.
Police launched an investigation into McDaniel on December 8, following allegations of inappropriate behavior with children who attended the daycare facility where he was employed at the time.
The MCSO spokesperson added McDaniel is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
“Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues,” the Facebook news release added. “McDaniel has had access to children in Montgomery County and Harris County through his employment or volunteer work at multiple daycares, churches, and school districts.”

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, there were 618,000 child maltreatment victims in 2020. It added that 9.4 percent of those victims had been sexually abused. “The victimization rate for girls is 8.9 per 1,000 girls in the population, which is higher than boys at 7.9 per 1,000 boys in the population,” said the Child Maltreatment 2020 report.
