Dressed as endangered animals, Kids for Saving Earth will tell visitors at a Richfield, Minn., nature center about the species’ threatened habitats.
Children from many countries will meet in Orlando, Fla., April 16-18 to plan America’s clean-energy future. The first annual Kids World Council-a sort of kids’ Rio summit-will be broadcast as a Nickelodeon special April 18 and 22.
Kids For A Clean Environment (F.A.C.E.) will sew what they hope to be the world’s largest flag made by kids. Children from all over the world have sent 12-inch decorated cotton squares. Kids F.A.C.E. will present the finished flag to the White House.

Students at Taylorville Junior High in Illinois have compiled a book of “recycled” nursery rhymes: familiar verses with new, ecological words. They’ll show them in a music video on E-Day.
As part of the Plan It for the Planet campaign, schoolchildren across the country have been building their own solar cookers. During Earth Week they will sell goods baked in the cookers to raise money to send the simple ovens to schools in the developing world.
