Early Signing Period Vote Tabled Until June 2016

Although the Collegiate Commissioners Association appeared to be leaning toward approving an early signing period, it concluded that more time is needed to make the right call on the divisive topic and tabled the discussion.

ESPN.com’s Jeremy Crabtree was on hand in Asheville, N.C., for the meetings and reported the news Wednesday morning.

National Signing Day falls on the first Wednesday in February. Crabtree reported that the proposal the committee was discussing for 2015 called for a three-day signing period beginning Dec. 16 for seniors only.
