There have been discussions about Murray’s relationship with Kelly ever since he reportedly met with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie on a plane to complain about his role in the offense. Everyone involved with the Eagles has downplayed the meeting, saying it wasn’t a big deal, but that won’t stop people from talking.

Some expected Murray to go the route of some others and throw Kelly under the bus, but he didn’t do that. The only thing he really said was it’s a chance to start over.
“I think it’s a fresh start for everyone,” Murray said, via Philly.com. “Obviously, you have a fresh breath of air. You have to make the most of the opportunity.”

He added he thought he had “a good relationship,” with Kelly and that it was “constantly growing and growing.” In short, he remained diplomatic about the firing, which is sort of Murray’s nature. He did say he has talked with Kelly since the firing, although he wouldn’t say who initiated the call.
Murray was a high-priced free agent after being the league’s leading rusher a season ago in Dallas. Despite being mostly healthy, Murray has only rushed for 633 yards in 14 games this season, and lost his role as starting running back.
