The Eagles’ 438-page media guide has 300 mentions of the Redskins, but this week’s game release does not mention the Redskins once, instead referring to the NFL team in the nation’s capital as “Washington.” The Redskins name has been a point of controversy for some time, as owner Daniel Snyder stubbornly refuses to even consider a name change.
If other teams follow the Eagles’ lead, it may just be a matter of time before the NFL forces Snyder to act.
